say it with italics

Over the years, my friends frequently say to me: 'Oh, Lucy, you are funny' and 'You do make me laugh'. Usually said with affection, and I do usually know why it's been said, although occasionally I'm not so sure. Perhaps it will be written on my gravestone. 'Oh, she was funny,' and 'she did make us laugh'. I suppose it could be worse. But there will always be that certain tone of voice implied by the use of italics.
