Day 4: Edinburgh

Went to Edinburgh on the train from Berwick-upon-Tweed. Train went by the sea on parts of journey - nice watching from window.

We didn't go into the castle as it was absolutely heaving with tourists (the cheek!) and was also quite expensive.Walked the Royal Mile right down to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.Went into the High Kirk of St Giles - the wood carvings in the Thistle Chapel were amazing.

Walked back up and around and went into the Museum of Scotland, which was very good - and free! Although my feet were screaming. Good to explore a city we've never seen before - I love the feel of the Old City and the architecture. Train rather busy on return - lots of commuters on board.

What a beautiful city Edinburgh is?

Wonder if any nice people live there?

(yet)
