"When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. "
A lovely quote, and so very true. I have experienced the ups and downs of misguided friendships, and a true friend is definitely one that just accepts us for who we are, and whatever situation we find ourselves in for what it is. Thankfully we also have Jesus who offers this friendship to us. Much love, Paula

So true. Thanks for the reminder.
Yes, true friends can rest in knowing that sometimes words are unnecessary. Hard for me. I like to fix stuff. And telling you how is my speciality!
Just beautiful Lucy, I referred a friend over to read this post. Love your blog!
