brief musings...on wisdom

How desperately we need wisdom today. It’s hard to navigate shades of grey, and when it becomes multiple shades of Technicolor we don’t know how to respond. We want to do the right thing, but how can we tell? How do we find our responses in the perplexities and crises of life?

So often we ask for specific help in a specific situation, which is good.But how often do we ask for wisdom in general? Seeking insight daily in order that our lives may be better – and we learn to deal with all things better and more sensitively.

It seems to me that I need to offer up my mind and heart to be re-moulded daily, and thus when difficult situations arise, I already have a base on which to grow my thinking. Tuning in regularly, not just when things are difficult, means we are better at tuning in when we need to find wisdom and guidance. The aerial is already facing the right direction.

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
