this week's Wednesday wondering

I find it mildly fascinating that we tend to give hurricanes names...like Irene or Katia... as if somehow they are simply individuals who have worked themselves into a temper. In another situation, we might invite them round for a cuppa. Our tendency to anthropomorphise, I suppose (I'm not sure anthropomorphism can be converted to a verb, can it?).

 How did you guess? - yes, I have ironing to do.
